it was there
when i woke up
alone
it was there
when i did my stretches
alone
it was there
when i showered
alone
got dressed
alone
checked my pockets to make sure i had my keys
alone
but
as soon as i stepped outside
it blew away
and everybody laughed
as i chased something they couldn't see
down a dirty street
