my eyes burst open 

pierce the room looking for dreams 

so swiftly, escaped 

peasants ascend hills 

climb them with kings on their backs

knocked back down by thrones

in the cocktail of life

music has always been my favorite mixer

and i have always known

that you have to drink up

because the ice is melting 

leering stares of death

focused, ever-present gaze

never looks away

when rain starts to sing

rhythm sections of thunder

this storm keeps a beat

restaurant bosses

passive aggressive hellscape

on our labors, feed

when the words use us
